Surgeries inside joints can be performed via small skin incisions with high quality video cameras.
Arthroscopic surgery was primarily an indication for knee and shoulder joint pathologies. More recently also hips, ankle joint, ellbow, wrist and finger joints came into the spectrum of arthroscopic repair.
